He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), where he achieved the noteworthy distinction of being a prize winner in the professional exam (PE 1). He served as the Manager of Corporate & Investment Banking at HSBC Mauritius, during which time he underwent extensive training in Corporate Lending Analysis and Applied Credit Lending in Hong Kong and Singapore. This exposure not only sharpened his financial acumen but also provided a solid foundation for understanding the intricacies of corporate finance.

A pivotal moment in Afsar Ebrahim's career was his role as Deputy Group Managing Partner at BDO, the largest professional services firm in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a presence in Mauritius, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Madagascar, and Seychelles. His participation in this extensive network included the completion of the BDO Global Partners Leadership Programme in 2016, further enhancing his leadership skills and industry insights.

Furthermore, Afsar Ebrahim made significant contributions as the Group Finance Manager at British American Investment Group (BAI), showcasing his adaptability by managing financial operations within a diverse corporate structure.
